Week 4 Update

We have had great rehearsal time and everyone is working hard learning blocking and choreography. Keep working hard and going over the videos. We learned a difficult part last week with bouncing balls and jumping rope...practice!!!

Tuition
If you haven't paid your full tuition, your tuition is now past due. Please pay at the next rehearsal in the form of cash or check payable to Outcry Theatre.

-Please check the clothing sizes. Sometimes the size chart on Amazon is listed next to the size selection box via a link, but a lot of time the correct sizes are located in the photos of the clothes or down in the product description. Watch for Asian sizes because they are smaller than American sizes. Measure your child and read reviews; sometimes clothes will get a lower rating because the person ordered the wrong size.

-I used Amazon for most of the costume pieces because they are the quickest and most reliable, but not all costumes are required to be purchased through Amazon. Some links are examples and you can either order them or be inspired by them. 

-If your costume piece says “Must buy”, then it is an item that we’ve decided is a must. We are going for a certain look for each character. If for some reason it is not available, please let me know.

-Please note, some items are to be given to me to add a little “flair” to them (i.e., Mrs. Whatsit’s dress). Please bring those to me as soon as you receive them.

-Some pieces are going to need to be made by me. Once I complete the costume piece, I will let you know the cost; when I am reimbursed, you will receive the costume. 

-Feel free to share costume pieces with your double, though I would not recommend sharing clothes like shirts, dresses, pants. Please contact your double if that is something you are interested in doing.

-Since I will be creating only one pair of wings for Mrs. Whatsit, they will need to be shared.

-It’s rare, but sometimes a product pulls up as available through another seller and not via Amazon, but you can find it is actually available through Amazon by going to “Other Sellers on Amazon” box located under the “Add to Cart” button and clicking on the sellers link (for an example see this tie which pulls up through another seller, but is available through Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039AY7HK/ref=ox_sc_mini_detail?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A19RA835L93V2S). 

-One last thing: this show is going to be AMAZING! I am so happy I get the opportunity to be the Costume Coordinator for A Wrinkle in Time.  I am really looking forward to seeing this show come together!

Below you will find the Performance Schedule for A Wrinkle in Time. Actors will perform their ON night roles according to this schedule. Everyone will have an OFF night role and are required to attend every performance. The only exception is Camazotz 2/Teacher/Girl, they will be Camaztoz 2 and Teacher on their ON night and Girl on their OFF night.

Week 3 Update

Tuition
Your tuition balance is due on Wednesday, 6/22. You can pay with cash or check payable to Outcry Theatre.

We will have our costume meeting soon and after the meeting you will receive a detailed list of costume needs for each character. Please wait until the costume list has been posted to purchase anything.

Rehearsal 

Actors need to bring a pencil to every rehearsal to write down their blocking notes. Most of the time we won’t go back over the pages we cover each week for several weeks. When we go over the pages again they should already know their blocking. It is very important that your actors attend rehearsals, and if they have a conflict please let Lisa know.  Your actor is really going to have to rely on their doubles to catch up when a rehearsal is missed. Also, remember to bring water/snack and to wear comfortable shoes (no open toed shoes, flip flops or crocs).

Week 1 & 2 Update

What a great first few rehearsals! Please make sure you read all of the weekly updates. 

Blog
I will be using a blogspot blog to keep all the information about A Wrinkle in Time in one place. Please click on the link http://oytawrinkleintime.blogspot.com and follow by email. Once you subscribe, when there is a new post you will receive an email that will link you to the blog. This blog will be updated with any forms, schedules and weekly information needed.

Scripts

Each actor was given a script. Please have them bound together before our next rehearsal. This can be done by putting them in a 3-ring binder or taking them to an office supply/copy store and having it spiral bound together. Also, they need to have their lines highlighted.

Rehearsals

Important reminders for rehearsals:

• Wear comfortable clothes and tennis or dance shoes (no open-toed shoes or Crocs)

• Bring a water bottle, there is no water fountain at the rehearsal space

 • Bring a highlighter and pencil for notes

We are currently selling Outcry Youth Theatre shirts (different from a show shirt). They are $12 each and if you are interested in ordering, please contact Danielle by June 15th.
